Football stars doing their bit

Inside world footballers' charitable deeds.

What are prominent footballers doing amid Covid-19 pandemic.

"Everybody needs to play their part in this national efforts and that means PL footballers too. Given the sacrifices many people are making the first thing PL footballers can do is make a contribution, take a pay cut and play their part." these words were uttered by the Britain's Health Secretary, Matt Hancock.

Perhaps, this is a far-fetched misguided statement by the Hancock. Does he read newspapers or even follow Premier League players to actually see the charitable actions by PL stars.

Manchester united's star Marcus Rashford raised €150k for Fare Share UK "Which we're able to reach 600, 000 vulnerable people around UK." wrote Rashford on his tweet. Fare Share UK is a charity fighting hunger and food waste in UK.

Wilfried Zaha Crystal Palace's winger according to UK's Indepent online, "offered free use of 50 properties to NHS staff who are battling with Corona virus outbreak in central London hospital." it did not end there, he further donated food to his local food bank Trussell Trust in London.

"I would love to give a special mention to Liverpool player and Scotland captain Andy Robertson who today donated an extremely generous amount of money. This particular donation will allow Back Onside to continue providing lifesaving support to many people that are desperately in need and we will honestly, be forever grateful." Back Onside statement on Twitter. The number of PL players doing more than enough in their community is huge, the list is endless.

according to Bleacher Report" Liverpool captain, Jordan Henderson has contacted all PL clubs captain to create a Premier League Corona virus crisis fund that will collect millions of pounds." The mention above deeds by PL stars proves Hancock's point even more invalid and irrelevant, they've been doing it and they're still doing it.

To move to other Europe top Leagues we selected again few stars :

Neymar Jr da Sil va.

According to Bleacher Report "Neymar has donated €750, 000 to UNICEF and a celebrity fund to help those affected by coronavirus pandemic."

Lionel Messi

"Lionel Messi donates €1 million to Barcelona to Aid Covid-19 and research." this is according to Bleacher Report. The Barcelona star further convinced his teammates to take 70%pay cut to ensure that the club staff is paid while the football is on an indefinite break.

Xavi Hernandez and his wife Nuria Cunillera

."Xavi and his wife Nuria Cunillera have donated €1 million to Barcelona hospital de Barcelona to help fight against coronavirus outbreak." Br' tweet.

Christiano Ronaldo.

"Christiano Ronaldo and his agent Jorge Mendes have financed three intensive care units in hospitals in Portugal to help during the coronavirus pandemic." this is according to Bleacher Report.

Bayern Munich players.

"Bayern Munich players teamed up with Borrusia Dortmund, Rb Leipzig and Bayern Leverkusen players and donated €20 million to support first and second division clubs in Germany during the coronavirus pandemic." Br's tweet.
